In-N-Out Drinks Menu with Prices and Calories

The In-N-Out drinks menu holds 14 options and runs from a $0.99 carton of milk to a $2.65 extra large fountain cup. Six Coca-Cola products sit on the fountain wall alongside two lemonades and two teas, and coffee, hot cocoa and milk are poured separately.

This is the part of the menu where a single choice moves a meal total the most. A medium Signature Pink Lemonade carries 200 calories and a medium Diet Coke carries zero, and both cost the same $2.25. Every figure below uses the with ice column from the company nutrition sheet, since that is how the cup is handed over.

The full menu page lists all 43 items with prices and calories, so a fountain choice can be measured against the burger and side it is going with.

Calories by cup size

In-N-Out sells four cup sizes and publishes calories for each one. Small is 11 ounces, medium is 15, large is 22 and extra large is 29, all measured with ice. The gaps are wide enough to matter: the same Coca-Cola runs from 130 calories in a small cup to 360 in an extra large, and a Signature Pink Lemonade runs from 150 to 400.

Calories per cup, with ice, from the In-N-Out nutrition facts sheet. Iced tea cups are smaller at 6, 9, 14 and 19 ounces. Sweet iced tea is sold in selected markets only.

The ice column and why it matters

In-N-Out is one of the few chains that publishes calories both with and without ice, and the difference is larger than it sounds. A medium cup with ice holds 15 ounces of liquid. The same medium cup filled without ice holds 20 ounces. That takes a medium Coca-Cola from 180 calories to 240, a 33 percent increase for the same price and the same cup.

The pattern scales. An extra large Coca-Cola with ice is 360 calories, and the no ice version of the same size reaches 520. Anyone asking for light ice or no ice is buying more drink than the posted figure describes, which is worth knowing when a fountain cup is already the second largest calorie source in a combo.

The zero and near zero options

Four choices land at or near zero. Diet Coke is zero at every size. Unsweetened iced tea is zero calories, zero sugar and zero sodium at every size, brewed in the restaurant rather than poured from a syrup line. Coffee is zero before anything is added. Lite Pink Lemonade is 10 calories in a medium cup with no sugar at all.

Swapping any of these into a combo removes the full drink cost in calories at no change in price. On a Double-Double Combo that takes the meal from roughly 1,150 calories to roughly 970, and on a Hamburger Combo from 900 to 720. That is a larger reduction than dropping the fries would deliver, and the fries are covered on the fries page.

Milk, cocoa and coffee

Three drinks sit outside the fountain. A 10 ounce carton of milk at $0.99 is the cheapest item on the entire menu and carries 160 calories with 10 grams of protein, 7 grams of fat and 16 grams of sugar. On protein per dollar it beats every burger on the board, which makes it a genuinely useful addition rather than a children only option.

Hot cocoa is 8 ounces and 160 calories, rising to 180 with marshmallows, and it carries 240 milligrams of sodium which is the highest of any drink here. Coffee is 15 ounces and zero calories. Neither is a large seller, but both are on the board year round rather than seasonally, and the cocoa is the only hot sweet item the chain sells.
